Every mother in India has a story.
Today, we share one such story — Sudhaben Delwadia.
Like many women often called “just housewives,” Sudhaben supported her family by stitching clothes and teaching children. Her husband ran a small pan-parlor. They lived a simple middle-class life with a son and a daughter.
Her only dream was that her son would study well, get a good job, and reduce the family’s struggles. He understood this responsibility and worked sincerely. After completing his education, he got a job, and life slowly became stable.
With financial pressure reduced, the parents had one remaining wish — their son’s marriage. The wedding took place in their hometown, filled with happiness and relatives. Sudhaben believed that after this, she would finally live peacefully, spending time in bhajans and prayers.
But destiny had other plans.
Just a day after the wedding, her son developed breathing difficulties. Doctors advised immediate transfer to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital. After tests, kidney failure was confirmed. Dialysis or a transplant was the only option.
The joy of marriage turned into shock. Wedding expenses and medical costs broke the family emotionally and financially. Though fundraising was suggested, this self-respecting mother and son chose not to accept sympathy.
Once again, Sudhaben stood strong.
From her kitchen, she began making homemade sweets and snacks and delivering them door to door — not asking for help, only offering honest, homemade food.
If you truly value taste made with dignity and courage, you should definitely try it.
